SYDNEY OLYMPICS TORCH RELAY USED TORCH

$4,950.00

THE MOST UNFORGETTABLE SPORTING EVENT EVER HELD IN AUSTRALIA

Who can forget the feeling after Sydney was awarded the 2000 Summer Olympics

The Australian public really got into the Olympic spirit during the Australia wide torch relay.

Beautifully designed to capture the essence of the waves and the Sydney Opera House the torch became the symbol of the Games for people who could not actually attend. Huge crowds flocked when ever the torch relay passed and the individual runners were for the most part average Australians who had been recognised in their local community.

A series of bagdes were released through newspapers to coincide with the major places where the relay was due to pass.

This particular torch was carried by runner number 047, Helen Morris of Wodonga on the NSW / Victoria border. It still retains its original gas bottle and comes with the shirt worn by the runner and the official badge presented to each torch relay participant.

Beautifully framed the piece measures aprox 1110mm x 860mm. Although the piece speaks for itself we will of course provide a comprehensive Certificate of Authenticity.
