'THE GREATEST' MAKYBE DIVA FRAMED PRINT ONLY OFFICIAL LICENCED AUTOGRAPHED MELBOURNE CUP MAKYBE DIVA / GLENN BOSS PRODUCT WITH OFFICIAL C.O.A!!! 3 x MELBOURNE CUP WINNER 2003, 2004 & 2005 The Greatest - Makybe Diva Inspiring a nation through its brilliant 36-start career, Makybe Diva stands alone as the only horse to win three consecutive Melbourne Cups. The Desert King-Tugela mare graduated through provincial racing in Victoria during the winter and spring of 2002 to display her potential with black-type wins in the Listed Werribee Cup and Group 2 Queen Elizabeth Stakes at Flemington. Winning six of her first seven starts, trainer David Hall set the mare for the 2003 Melbourne Cup. In his first ride aboard the horse, Glen Boss piloted Makybe Diva to a fast finishing fourth in the Caulfield Cup - a perfect trial for the first Tuesday of November and the start of phenomenal partnership. Come Cup Day, Boss took Makybe Diva from barrier 14 into a perfect position, gaining a split at the top of the straight to win by over a length. It would be the first of her seven Group 1 victories. After becoming the fourth horse to complete the Melbourne Cup-Sydney Cup double, Makybe Diva joined the stable of trainer Lee Freedman. Undertaking a weight-for-age lead up campaign through the Melbourne spring of 2004, a flying second in the Caulfield Cup had the mighty mare poised for a shot at successive Melbourne Cups. Equalling the weight carrying record for a mare in the race, Makybe Diva revelled in the heavy conditions at Flemington, pushing up along the fence to defeat multiple Irish St Leger winner Vinnie Roe by one and a quarter lengths. Now Australasia's premier modern stayer, she gave Freedman his fourth Melbourne Cup. Her final year of racing would earn her comparisons with the best horses to ever grace the turf. A blistering Australian Cup win in track record time coupled with success in the BMW, Memsie and Turnbull Stakes showed her prowess at weight-for-age over a range of distances. Legendary status was confirmed with her triumph in the 2005 WS Cox Plate at Moonee Valley. Following an incredible build-up, Makybe Diva pushed on to attempt a record-breaking hat trick of Melbourne Cups. In a finale fitting of the career of the wonder mare, Boss again positioned her beautifully in the run before she unleashed in the straight. To deafening roars on track and across Australia, Makybe Diva carried a remarkable 58 kilos to victory. Her final race start, Makybe Diva entered retirement immediately as a part of Australian racing royalty. To mark Makybe Diva becoming the first horse in history to win three conescutive Melbourne Cups, a lithograph featuring three photographs of the great mare crossing the winning post for each of her three victories has been released. The images are printed on archival quality stock and feature foilong of the Melbourne Cup with the date and crowd. Jockey Glen Boss has signed the print and it comes complete with an official certificate of authenticity and fitted with the a-Tag authentication device.
