TIGER WOODS

Eldrick (Tiger) Woods was born on December 30, 1975 in California. He was barely out of the crib when he took an interest in golf by imitating his fathers swing as he hit golf balls into a net, at just 6mths old.

Tiger Woods has compiled one of the most impressive amateur records in golf history.

Nicknamed 'Tiger' he achieved No.1 on the official World Golf Rating for the most rapid progression ever to attain that position and became the youngest ever No.1 golfer at the age of 21 years 24 weeks.
In 2000 he won 3 professional major championships:-

In June he won the 100th US Open Championship at Pebble Beach (California) where he totally destroyed a world class field and won by a massive 15 shots, being the greatest margin in major championship history. He was the only player in the field to beat par.

July of that year, only a month after his magnificent US Open win he continued to dominate world golf, winning the 2000 British Open and becoming the youngest man ever to win golf's Grand Slam, finishing 19 under par.

In August he won the US PGA Golf Championship giving him 3 in a row and an even more secure place in Golf's record books. He joined Ben Hogan by becoming only the 2nd man to ever win 3 majors in a single year, after a staggering 47 years! By winning the US PGA Open he also became the first back-to-back winner in 63 years!

From 1996 - 2000 he won numerous awards including Male Athlete of the Year 1997, 1999 and 2000 and the founding member of the World Sports Academy voted Tiger in the Laureus Sports Awards as 1999 and 2000 World Sportsman of the Year.

In 2001 in perfect conditions, Tiger Woods yet again re-wrote Golf's record books with a 4th consecutive major championship victory. Up against fearless competition he eventually won the 2001 Masters by 2 shots with a 16 under par total, making him the only golfer in history to hold the 4 major championship titles at the one time. He won the championship again in 2002. Tiger Woods joined Jack Nicklaus and Nick Faldo to be one of only 3 to achieve such a feat.

This magnificent item of memorabilia consists of 2 panoramic shots, 1 which is limited edition of 950. It also consists of 2 plaques and a rare personally autographed golf ball all beautifully framed with triple matting and gold foil frame.
